标本应在收集后一小时内冷藏(2至8℃）或冷冻(-20℃或更低)，并尽快进行检测。能在一周以内检测的标本可置于4℃保存;无法检测的标本，短期可在-20℃中保存，长期应置于-70℃以下保存(收集后>60天)。全血分离血浆前冷藏(2至8℃),然后-20℃或以下保存。应设立专库或专柜单独保存标本。标本应避免反复冻融。
